This programme is designed to support educators to inquire into improving student outcomes, with a particular focus on increasing students' spoken use of the language; deepen your understanding of key documents which underpin the Learning Languages area of the NZC; and reflect on collected evidence of how you cater for these in your practice.

About the course

Course information

Who will benefit from this course:

All teachers of languages, especially those teaching junior/beginner levels.

As the course is evidence-based, teachers must be teaching a language over the duration of the year, preferably between Years 1-10.

Course structure:

This course is delivered through two full-day face-to-face workshops, four online workshops and practice analysis school visits.

Participants will be supported by a digital learning platform for on-going inquiry and reflection.

Post-observation discussions are of 90 minutes in duration.

Reflecting on the teacher's use of spoken target language in the classroom

Cost

At no cost for NZ registered teachers.

Selected participants will be advised of the location once registrations have closed. Tui Tuia | Learning Circle - Languages will pay for associated travel for teachers who are outside of the city of delivery for face-to-face workshop(s) or provide delivery online where appropriate.

Upon completion of the programme, your school can claim back the cost of two Teacher Release Days.
