This course is designed to support educators to explore opportunities to introduce, develop and nurture Pasifika languages in their schools.

About the course

Course information

This course is relevant for education staff from Pasifika and non-Pasifika backgrounds who want to begin or grow Pasifika languages in their culturally and linguistically diverse schools. It is delivered through a blend of face-to-face and online workshops. Participants will also be supported by a digital learning platform for on-going inquiry and reflection.

Exploring teaching and learning models, leadership and mechanisms for growing Pasifika languages in schools

Workshop 4 (full day face-to-face)

Developing language teaching and facilitating strategies, skills, activities and environments for bilingual and multilingual Pasifika language programmes.

Creating proposals, plans, and resources to support and grow learners' Pasifika languages in schools

Cost

At no cost for NZ registered teachers.

Selected participants will be advised of the location once registrations have closed. Tui Tuia | Learning Circle - Languages will pay for associated travel for teachers who are outside of the city of delivery for face-to-face workshop(s) or provide delivery online where appropriate.

Upon completion of the programme, your school can claim back the cost of two Teacher Release Days.
