Overview

Join us for an immersive and hands-on workshop to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Jie (端午节) in Mandarin Chinese. Participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich cultural traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival, which combines Chinese and Māori traditions and cultural narratives in this engaging workshop.

Registrations open on 11 April and close on 7 May 2025.

What we will cover

During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to

  • Explore fascinating traditions surrounding this festive occasion and enhance their understanding of its significance
  • Connect the 2025 Chinese Year of the Snake and Dragon Boat Festival with te ao Māori
  • Engage in an interactive whai session relevant to cultural traditions

This workshop will be delivered in Chinese and English.
