Attend this full day in person or select to join us online for an informative EXPLORE workshop. This is for all teachers at primary, intermediate and secondary school level who wish to extend their understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, to enhance and provide a bi-cultural learning environment for students in Aotearoa.
An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty) is critical to working effectively within the education setting and classrooms in Aotearoa. Gaining an appreciation of the context, intentions and on-going significance of the Treaty enables teachers to recognise its applicability to their lives and work.
This one-day workshop provides participants with an understanding of why we have a Treaty, what it says, colonisation and its impacts, and current Treaty issues.
It also provides an opportunity to briefly consider personal responses and actions as a classroom teacher.
