Overview

This workshop addresses the challenge many Spanish teachers face in keeping students engaged and motivated. By exploring storytelling as a powerful teaching tool, the session provides creative strategies and digital resources that help make language learning more dynamic, meaningful, and interactive, while also fostering collaboration among educators.

Where: Tui Tuia |Learning Circle Facilitation Room 1, Level 9, 67 Symonds St, Auckland

Registrations open on 26 May and close on 11 June 2025.

This workshop will be delivered in Spanish.

What we will cover

In this workshop, participants will be guided through the process of creating meaningful stories to enhance engagement and learning in the Spanish classroom.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Identify and differentiate between various forms of storytelling: oral, written, visual, and digital.

• Design and implement interactive stories tailored for language learning.

• Incorporate visual thinking tools, story maps, and digital resources to craft engaging narratives.

• Collaborate to build a learning community and contribute to a shared repository of teaching resources.

• Connect with other Spanish teachers and practise speaking Spanish in a professional, supportive environment.

At no cost for NZ registered teachers.

Tui Tuia | Learning Circle Languages is funded to provide professional learning for provisionally and fully registered Primary, Intermediate and Secondary teachers throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
