Overview

Join our monthly 45-minute online session to engage in a casual conversation with other Japanese language teachers and with Chisato Yoshioka, our Japanese National Language Adviser.

Course information

When:

Monthly at 4pm - 4.45pm

  • May session: Wednesday 1 May 2024

Registrations open on 8 April and close on 30 April 2024.

Topic for May: Midori-no-hi (Greenery Day), Kodomo-no-hi/Tango-no-sekku (Children's Day), Haha-no-hi (Mother’s Day), etc.

  • June session: Wednesday 5 June 2024

Registrations open on 13 May and close on 4 June 2024.

Topic for June:  Tsuyu (rainy season), Chichi-no-hi (Father’s Day), etc.

  • July session: Wednesday 3 July 2024

Registrations open on 10 June and close on 2 July 2024

Topic for July: Tanabata (Star Festival), Umi-no-hi (Marine Day), etc.

What we will cover

These online sessions provide Japanese language teachers with the opportunity to immerse themselves in Japanese language and culture by discussing seasonal events and highlights. They offer a chance for teachers in different regions to meet and connect.

Topics change every month, featuring seasonal events and highlights of the month.

Participants will have the chance to share their own experiences in Japan and/or classroom activities related to the topic.

Throughout the session, teachers will:

1)     Get new insights about Japanese language and culture

2)     Get tips to make the most of your class

3)     Get to know each other
