Overview

Participants will gain first-hand insight into the documentary about the Paniora iwi, whose ancestral ties are understood to be linked to Manuel José de Frutos, a Spaniard who arrived in New Zealand in 1800. We will watch selected scenes and collaboratively design learning activities that are both culturally and communicatively relevant. Participants will also learn how to connect mātauranga Māori with Spanish language teaching.
