Are you ready to embark on an immersive journey that integrates art, culture, language, and interdisciplinary learning? Join us for an overnight workshop in Whangārei, where you'll explore the multifaceted world of Friedensreich Hundertwasser and learn how to use his diverse talents to enrich your German curriculum through a Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach.

Hundertwasser  Art Centre, Whangārei

Eligibility:

We invite applications from German teachers. Due to limited spots, priority will be given to those who:

  • currently teach German at New Zealand schools, and
  • are actively engaged with professional development offered by Tui Tuia | Learning Circle - Languages.


A selection process will be in place for applications.

Hundertwasser: Architect, Environmentalist, and Artist:

Dive into the captivating life of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, an Austrian creative genius who excelled as an architect, environmentalist, and artist. Discover how his architectural marvels, environmental advocacy, and mesmerizing artwork can be interwoven into your German language teachings to create a comprehensive learning experience.

 

CLIL Approach for Holistic Learning:

Learn how to leverage the power of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) to immerse your students in Hundertwasser's world. Explore how his architectural principles, environmental consciousness, and artistic expressions can serve as the foundation for interdisciplinary lessons that enhance language proficiency and foster critical thinking and cultural understanding.

Environmental Awareness and Māori Culture:
