Belinda Sydenham has recently left her role as Programme Manager – Tui Tuia | Learning Circle (Languages), a role shared with the very able Stephanie Mortimore, to become an NCEA Implementation Facilitator (NIF) with the Ministry of Education. In this newly created role, around 30 people from different curriculum areas are charged with assisting HODs, teachers and schools with the NCEA change programme. Belinda has been a part of the Asian Languages SEG (Special Expert Group) and RAS (Review of Achievement Standards), so has been well prepared to ensure a smooth transition for language teachers and the sector more broadly for the changes which are coming in the next three years.
If you and your school, kahui ako or department would like to contact Belinda (or the languages team she is working with) for support, please email: Belinda.sydenham@education.govt.nz
