The Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) is a standardised assessment for non-native speakers of the Korean language. It is administered six times a year in Korea: January, April, May, July, October, and November). In New Zealand, TOPIK is offered twice annually – in April and October.
This year, the 102nd TOPIK will be held on Saturday, 18 October in Christchurch. Please note that applications for this test are now closed. For information about the next TOPIK in 2026, please contact the Korean Education Centre in New Zealand.
In 2025, 32 schools across Aotearoa are delivering Korean language classes with the support of the Korean Education Centre (KEC) in New Zealand. KEC is committed to working in partnership with schools to broaden access to Korean language learning and cultural experiences
Schools currently offering, or considering the introduction of, Korean language programmes are warmly invited to connect with KEC to explore opportunities for tailored support.
