What we will cover

Local Curriculum Design brings the aspirations and contributions of your community to learning. Designing a rich local curriculum allows all whānau and mana whenua to make decisions with leaders and teachers about what they want their tamariki and mokopuna to experience. Effective local curriculum design is framed around progression based on the purposes for learning.

Earlier this year, the Ministry of Education made some changes to Regionally Allocated PLD which allows schools to seek support with NCEA subjects.  When you make your RA PLD application, you can now search for specific facilitators to support your teachers in specific NCEA areas.  For example, if a teacher or school needs help developing their NCEA Learning Languages courses to meet the needs of the new NCEA achievement standards, our Language facilitators can help.
