Tui Tuia's approach to Tapasā PLD is flexible, reflective and responsive. We partner with individuals and groups at schools and Early Learning Services to co-design Professional Learning and Development (PLD) support based on their strengths and needs. We recognise the importance of tailoring our approach to make the greatest impact using relationships, leadership and tools.
Our goal is to strengthen teachers' cultural competencies with Pacific learners, their families and communities.
Our teaching method will be facilitated through a blended mode of in-school or in-centre support, regional face-to-face workshops, and online delivery.
We have been contracted by the Ministry of Education to provide Tapasā training to all schools and Early Learning Services in the North Island over the next 3 years. Our areas of focus are:
- Bay of Plenty
- Hawkes Bay
It will be facilitated via a blended mode of in-school or in-centre support, regional face to face workshops, and online delivery. The PLD will be co-designed and tailored to meet the needs of each Early Learning Service and school.
The PLD support will be implemented across a school year.
FREE of charge.
This PLD is fully-funded by the Ministry of Education.
Places for 2023 are limited.
