Ana has many years of experience in professional development for Māori Medium kaiako in pāngarau using inquiry processes. This includes design and facilitation of pāngarau programmes to support student success in pāngarau, involving collaboration with classroom kaiako, pāngarau lead teachers and whānau. Ana works across Te Tai Tokerau region.

Belinda Sydenham

Programme Manager/Facilitator

Belinda has worked in schools in New Zealand, Australia and Japan, teaching Japanese, French and ESOL to students from primary to upper secondary level for over 25 years. She enjoys working with teachers to develop their language teaching pedagogy, to make their lessons fun and engaging, and to enhance the learning outcomes for their students.

Bruce Taplin


Bruce is an accredited Māori Medium Facilitator and specialises in Pāngarau. He works with Pāngarau planning/programmes in TKKM, rumaki reo, reo rua and mainstream kura, as well as delivery of Pāngarau programmes to whole class and small groups, student data analysis, and design and delivery of accelerated learning activities.

Chris Lowman


Chris has worked in the teaching profession since 1969 in the role of teacher, Deputy Principal, Principal and Resource Teacher of Māori. Chris facilitates PLD for teachers in Māori Medium settings in teaching oral language, Deliberate Acts of Language Learning (DALLs), the implementation of sequenced scaffolded language programmes across the curriculum, the development of programmes which optimise learners’ language transfer strategies, and bilingualism/biliteracy and language learning.

Colin is the Programme Manager and Facilitator supporting and developing our popular and highly regarded Leadership PLD courses including Growing Great Leaders™.

Dr Mark Dashper


Mark is highly experienced in innovative teaching and learning environments and flipped classrooms, e-Ako pedagogies in collaborative environments to support kaiako to make positive shifts in their practice and encourage ākonga achievement, blended learning PLD to schools, culturally sustaining pedagogy, Ngā Toi.

Lisa is an experienced teacher and professional development facilitator with a working knowledge of implementing key Ministry of Education strategies and policies for supporting Māori student achievement such as; Ka Hikitia, Tātaiako, Hautū and Te Aho Arataki Marau (Te Reo Māori in English Medium Schools). Lisa works across Te Tai Tokerau region.

Rewa is an experienced Te Reo Māori PLD facilitator (English medium) supporting primary and secondary teachers to plan and deliver quality te reo Māori programmes. Rewa has expertise in second language acquisition, formative and summative assessment practices, NCEA and culturally sustaining pedagogy.

Richard joined the Tui Tuia | Learning Circle Leadership team in 2016 after a successful 26 year career as a primary principal in Dunedin and rural Otago.

Sharron Fabish


Sharron has facilitated professional learning and development in English and Māori-medium primary and secondary schools with leaders, teachers and whānau. She specialises in Te Reo Māori, culturally responsive and relational pedagogy as well as student learning and achievement, in particular for Māori learners. Sharron works in the Ahuriri and Heretaunga regions.
